I am thoroughly enjoying exploring the sparkly-yet-grounded colors of my new Chaudiere instrument. It strikes a perfect balance of sound – elegant and focused paired with grit and power. I consider this the “sister” of the 1995 Chaudiere viola, owned by my teacher, Ettore Causa, that I had been playing for the previous two years. While many elements are comfortably familiar, each instrument carries its own distinct personality. I am very excited for the years ahead as this one continues to mature!
